For those of you who know me..... I have decided to try one more avenue for getting my information acrosss. For those of you who have stumbled upon me.... thanks for stopping by and I hope you like what I do.
What started out as a small hobby to make a bit of extra cash a few years ago has turned into something a little bit more creative and fun. Once upon a time I made custom Italian bracelet links. You remember them. Silver links that had all sorts of things on them from rhinestones, to pictures of your favorite sports teams to etched sayings like Bite Me.... well when that rush went bust I sat on my supplies for a while then came up with an idea. I read a lot of books.... I mean a LOT of books. I was hoping to go to RT10 in Ohio but the funds just were not there when I got an idea to make custom bookmarks with some fancy crystal beads I had located. With that idea in my head I jumped into it and sent a few "samples" out to authors who I had addys from after a few contest wins and..... they loved them. A video blog by Dakota Cassidy, some interest from Angie Fox and Leah Braemel and the rest is history. I have now sold bookthongs to dozens of authors. Love what I do and love hearing from those who have gotten one and are enjoying them for their own use. Recently because of tragedies in this world that were brought to light in the twitter and facebook world I even sent a few out for winning bids in charity auction. I have been out of work for a year so this was my way of helping out their causes.

Book thongs? Who would of thought it? I don't know but without seeing the definition my mind has filled in the cracks(er blanks.)
I was just at a new site (for me) bookcrossing.com yesterday; this would be a neat addition to their sparse store(people are looking for things to buy darn near anywhere.) The main idea is to get your product noticed everywhere, with contact information for where to order their own bookthongs.
Every bookstore could have a rack, start with the stores nearest you. Send some to Oprah. Those guys that had the 1-800-Got-Junk business had sent her a bunch of their memorabilia; on a slow day they were looking for story ideas. Wa lah! Millions in free publicity.
She does those book of the day deals, how about contacting some of her past authors that have blogs? They too can sometimes struggle for "post ideas."
All those book sellers on eBay, especially the ones with highend and rare books. Do you know sometimes people have bought a product for the "bonus" that came with the product. If you want the "bonus" you have to buy the product. =*) Just make up a form letter with a great photo of the best bookthongs you make and start emailing your proposition to all of the sellers with thousands of auctions in their feedback.
